English Grammar vs Idioms
I asked two co-workers (both older folks) the "What's past/passed is past" question, and I got two different answers! *laugh* In the end, though, I am sticking to "What's past is past." The rationale: We use the same structure for other things eg. "What happened happened" and "What's done is done". It's a more idiomatic expression. Feel free to disagree, of course. ^_^ O_o 43 poll-takers in seven hours. Wow, you guys really like grammar. [ETA2: The debate continues. 54 people have taken the quiz, and a LOT of you have weighed in on #4. This just goes to show one should be VERY careful when it comes to using idioms in quizzes. ^_^; (*learned something new!*)]
SketchUp
Considering how some people on my f-list have been eaten alive by SketchUp, I think I'm actually _not_ going to try it for now. It'll be useful if I get writer's block and need to spend some time working on Planeswalker, though. ^_^ *marks it down for future reference*
Not Writing
I should be working on Pearly Gates ch2, but I'm already tired. ^_^; I guess I shouldn't force things. *watches some anime instead* Probably not going to post any more tonight, unless it's editing this post for random anime squee.
ETA: Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds
Squee shall now commence. OMG YES I love how all these cards and monsters are just so convoluted and one keeps working out new strategies and ways of using them. Perfect combinations ROCK.
ETA3: Sleep
... 3am. I was going to go to the immigration office, but we'll see what time I wake up.
